Brian and Andy at We Buy Records have a combined 30 years in the vinyl-buying business. Because of this experience, we know which records are valuable right away, and we can pay you a LOT more for the good stuff!
Local CD/DVD/Record shops and big chains like Half-Priced Books deal in a lot of different formats of music. A $10 an hour employee at these shops is not going to be expert enough on vinyl records to know which ones are really valuable. Their buying system is based on getting everything dirt cheap and finding out later if they snagged anything super valuable from you. Chain stores typically pay 10 cents an album or so — if they take them at all!
2. We Make House Calls
Brian and Andy travel the Midwest every day looking at record collections. We do house calls for medium and large sized collections (300-400 or more, exceptions sometimes made), so there is no need for you to take the super heavy records up from the basement, down from the attic, off of a precarious closet or garage shelf, helping save your back in the process. We encourage you to not move or clean them at all before we come.
